You know I criticize the Govt. A lot but I did not want to write this article. But the more I watched the TV the more I just had to no matter how much it pains me to do so. In the wake of hurricane Katrina. Why has our govt. not gotten a better handle on the situation? I understand we have just lost a major American city. Where is Homeland Security, where are our friends at FEMA. Why during the tsunami in Indonesia did we have relief on the way faster than we can get help into our own city of New Orleans? Are we not the country that pulled off the Berlin Airlift?

They keep telling us to give up our freedoms so they can protect us and this is what we get for letting them. This situation proves what I have been saying all along they can’t protect us from shit. We as always are on our own. So lets fire them and keep the money we pay them and start doing for ourselves again. Why is it a man and his wife can get in from across the state with their own airboat and pull people out? And the US Government can’t get food water and medical supplies into the Superdome. Like Terri Ebert from Homeland Security said this is a dam disgrace. They new the levies needed upgraded but spent your money on foreign aid. Now it is easy to play armchair quarterback but where are all our military choppers, Iraq I’ll bet. Where are all of our engineers that fix refineries, Iraq I’ll bet? Why are all these countries we have helped in the past stone silent. The American people have raised 93,000,000 dollars in a few days but the people in the Superdome are dying. From no water and food. I talked to my daughter today she said dad I donated 10.00 I wish I could have given more but it was all I had. (I was very proud of her) Maybe the time has come to quit worrying and about the global community and start looking out for number 1 first.

Hey I believe you should help people when you can but not when it causes the death of your own. This country is broke anyway. Deficit is just a politically correct way to say they have bankrupted us. This has got to stop before it is too late if it is not to late already. This is a shame I am embarrassed. Some where saying this is a racial thing. I don’t know if I buy that but it is an American thing. Americans don’t rate in America we have money and recourses for everyone but our own. And our own die because we are spread to thin policing the rest of the worlds problems. I don’t know about you but I for one am tired of the govt. telling our people to be patient while they are dieing.

The reason I got mad enough to write this is some one asked President Bush what he thought of people looting to get food and supplies and to stay alive. And he said we should have no tolerance for breaking the law. Now there is a man with his finger on the pulse of the nation. Now if you are walking around raping people and stealing TV’s yes arrest them shoot them whatever. But the stuff is going to be ruined any dam how just get the people out then go in and get the bad looters. If my family were starving I would steal food and necessities to keep them alive. And I would not feel one bit guilty about it. The stuff will be ruined before New Orleans is habitable any way. I just want to close with this. How come the people that are trying to help are being turned away when they are willing to risk their lives to help? Isn’t that up to them if they want to put their life on the line to help these poor people? Hell they even turned the Red Cross back. While the police rode around in armored vehicles passing people they could have been hauling out. Why does the press keep getting in to the Super Dome and do not seem to be afraid but the rescue and armed police fear to go.

Heck if someone is shooting at the rescue workers arm the workers who are willing to go in and let them shoot back. Oh but we can’t have American Citizens defending themselves now can we. That might lead to anarchy. Oh I’m sorry I thought that why we couldn’t get in because of the anarchy in the city. Today was the first day of my life I was ASHAMED TO BE AN AMERICAN. My govt. has disgraced us all. And yes I think even I could have done a better job running this cluster #$^$^%^ . And I’ll bet I could have to. Hell President Bush give me a shot at it. The guy you have running FEMA defiantly #$%^ the pooch on this one. And I would like to ask everyone to pray for the people of the Gulf Coast and help them anyway you can. Since Uncle Sam won't. And that the rescue worker that are working hard to rescue people.
